Fifteen people went on this trip, and while there were plenty of cameras, the bulk of the photos were all taken with my Olympus digital camera, with me, Luke, and Bert taking turns as photographer. Between the three of us we managed to take over 1,100 photos. To take that many with film would have been prohibitively expensive, but with digital it’s possible.

Of course the downside to taking so many photos is that your fellow travelers will accuse you of being a member of the paparazzi. By the end of the trip I was getting some rather cold glares from my friends any time they suspected the camera might be aimed at them; out of consideration for them and for the fact that many of the photos are very frank, I have chosen not to post more of those images here. This is not the right context.

This photo was obviously taken with flash, which is something this Olympus camera is not terribly good at. But I love the reflection of the glass coffee table the candle is sitting on. I used this photo as a guide while building this image.
