The weather in November isn’t really great for photography. I had only a couple of good chances to take photos of Mt. Fuji. One of them was early in the morning, just after sunrise, and the snow on the peak was this nice pink color. I took this from the hotel room balcony; after that, I went up to the roof to see if I could take more photos, but didn’t get anything very impressive. The camera I was using didn’t have tremendous zoom capability (so when I got back to the US I bought a new one).

Later in the week I hiked up the mountain to try to get some more photos, and while I did get some interesting shots, none of them included Fuji, which was shrouded in clouds for most of the week. In fact, later that week our mountain was enveloped in fog so thick we couldn’t see a hundred feet. The morning we left this hotel to go to Tokyo the clouds finally cleared and I had another chance to shoot some photos, but none of them turned out better than this one.
