In the years since I purchased my first digital camera, I’ve taken thousands of photos. I’ve done some thinking about that, but with so many, I’m bound to have a few favorite photos. I’ve included them here.

This first photo was taken on the beach in St. Augustine in the spring of 2001. It was early, and few people were on the beach yet; these two surfers were already there.

In the summer of 2002 I went to Mexico City with a group of friends to spend some time with Saúl and Pilar Cruz at Armonía Ministries. One night at the guest house we lost power, so we lit a few candles.

  • Just a candle on a table

In October 2002 I happened to be leaving the Ponce Inlet beach at sunset and snapped this photo of the lighthouse.

Summer 2003 found me back in Mexico City. This time we helped to build a staircase at Armonía’s Santa Cruz location. (This photo was taken by John Tassos.)

  • Luke and Damien cutting metal

My good friends Craig and Dolly got married in September 2003, and I took some photos there. While I have lots of good photos (everybody looks their best at a wedding!) this is one of my favorites.

  • Bride and groom with bouquet

Just a few weeks later, I spent a nice weekend in the Florida Keys and went out one evening with John to take some sunset photos. Of the many photos shot that weekend, I like these the most.

  • Odd rocks on the beach
  • John Tassos taking photos
  • Wide shot of sunset

And just a few more weeks after that I had the opportunity to go to Japan to assist with the Church Planting Institute’s annual conference. These are a few of the best photos from that trip.

  • Canadian Rockies at sunset
  • Mt. Fuji at sunrise
  • Gardens in Hakone
  • Lake in Hakone

No doubt I will have more favorite photos over time, since I am fairly certain I will keep taking pictures. But that’s all for this collection of favorites.
