One thing these photos don’t really do is convey how steep a climb the pyramids really are. You just see photos of what look like easy slopes, nothing worse than an ordinary staircase. Well, the pyramid of the sun is 215 feet tall, roughly twenty floors. And unlike a normal staircase where the steps are small and you can walk fully upright, these steps are much taller, especially near the top, and walking on all fours is much less acrophobia-inducing.
This photo is looking straight down the steps of the third section of the pyramid. It’s not the steepest section, but it gives a bit of the feel of the climb.
