This is probably my favorite photo from the entire trip. Not only does it sum up our entire reason for being there, but it just turned out very well. My camera is very susceptible to movement while it’s taking pictures (two-thirds of my photos have unacceptable camera-shake) so I’m really glad I was able to hold still for this one.

In most cities, this church would be an impressive building, standing tall above its neighbors and sending the message that God (or at least His church) is bigger than any man-made institution. But here in New York, the works of man reign supreme, dwarfing the church and making it seem inconsequential.

Perhaps the church needs to be reminded that the world doesn’t see God as being that big.
